| Buenos dias, fishermen, fisherwomen, and fish...It is with pleasure that I announce my overdue return to the sea. You'll be pleased to know that the whale spit me out before too much digestive enzyme damage could be done. Well, at any rate, my fingers can still type and the doctors have assured me that skin will repair itself over time. As I steer myself carefully over the waters of thought, I relax in the knowledge that I have (hopefully) successfully completed yet another round of semester exams. We at St. Ed's work in the extremely common FIVE grading period system that allows us the opportunity to take five rounds of semester tests. Whoopee. Isn't life grand? At least we have five rounds of post-semester breaks and today is a day of sleeping in, unhealthy eating, and online posting. Perhaps it will also be a day of girl fishing, for despite the number of lines I cast, no fish will bite and it seems that I will spend my Valentine's in contemplative solitude, dwelling on my life as a single. Of course, it is better to be alone than with the wrong woman, as so many of my contemporaries are, but still...it makes one wonder if there really is someone for everyone. But enough. I will swim up from these deep ocean waters and break into the light at the surface. To dance among the waves alone will be enough today. Forever searching, Pat |
